Bahamas & Key West Cruise

Royal Caribbean - Majesty of the Seas
December 5-9, 2005

(I surprised Jim with a cruise to the Bahamas for his 40th birthday present.
My sister Mary and her husband Ron joined us.)

Sunday...
Jim and I flew into Miami Sunday early evening, checked into our hotel and headed over to the marina for dinner and drinks. Mary and Ron flew in a few hours later... however their luggage didn't make the flight. Not knowing if their luggage would arrive in time for the cruise, we went out for a few more drinks and some shopping at the marina... (Mary found some great bargains-lol).

Monday...
The Stockwell's luggage finally arrived just in time to leave the hotel to board the ship.

Tuesday...
We docked in Nassau at 8am. Jim went on an early morning excursion to snorkel with the sting rays. Mary, Ron and I hung out and shopped around Nassau a little before the 4 of us went on our afternoon excursion to the Breezes resort for a day of relaxing on the beach.

Dinner Tuesday night was formal.

Wednesday...
The ship was scheduled to spend the day at Royal Caribbean's private island of CoCo Cay. We were excited to snorkle, kayake and really enjoy the tropical beauty of the island... Unfortunately, there were large swells and the weather was a little stormy. They announced early in the morning that we wouldn't be able to ancor and use the tender boats to get to shore in the swells. We had an unexpected sea day instead.

I tried laying out at the pool but it was drizzling off and on... so we decided to explore the ship, take some pictures and hang out.

The atrium was decorated for Christmas, as was most of the ship... it was hard to think about Christmas when the weather was 85 degrees! lol.

Internet Cafe where we stayed in touch with the boys.

The Casino - it was the largest I had ever seen on any ship.

Winjammer Cafe - buffet restaurant...

Before dinner we took pictures by the big Christmas tree.

Dinner time!

We got a towel animal every night - lol... the cruise compass and chocolates on our pillows.

Thursday...
Key West! We spent Thursday in Key West and it was warm and beautiful. We did some shopping, site seeing and then went on the "Crazy Boat". (Which took you out in a small boat that did 360s and was like a roller coaster in the water.) It was so much fun, but a little cold! After the crazy boat we spent the day in town where Key West was having it's version of Mardi Gras (that was postponed due to the hurricanes in October and November).
